Dudelet is tucked up in bed and I’m about to read him stories.
“Did you go and see William?”
“Yes.”
“Was it fun?”
(Consideredly) “It was good.”
“What did you do?”
“The baby started crying and William laughed at him and then I laughed at him but then then I stopped laughing because it isn’t nice to laugh.”
“What did William do?”
“He just carried on laughing. I told him it wasn’t very nice but he still laughed.”
“Well, it was nice of you to stop.”
(Pause)
“When the baby cried again, I took him to his mummy.”
“That was good. Why was he crying.”
(Pause)
“I think it was because I dropped him a bit.”

Marvelous.
Oops.
I’ve been known to laugh at things like that as well. Bad mama.
Haha!
Further gentle interrogation the following day revealed that said baby had been crawling and dudelet had been holding him up a little around his waist. Apparently he let go a little suddenly and the child involved got a bit of a fright!
“A bit…” Heh heh! That’s funny!
You just have to laugh sometimes…like, where’s the rim shot? Ba-dum, bum–tishhhhhh!
That was very funny! “dropped him a bit”! i love that.
