I was reading this post on Horse Pig Cow in the context of my day job and it occurred to me that a great deal of the advice given maps on to family life fairly well.
Rule 11 – “Trying to please everyone will leave you with a boring product.” seems especially relevant for some reason. And rule 10 ( “Ego doesn’t belong here”) should probably be emblazoned across our door. Well, I can dream., right?

I’m currently struggling with #4: “Try not to take flames and other negative feedback personally.” Don’t these kids know about fragile parental egos? Oops, guess I’m having trouble with #10, too.
