Six (More)Things You Didn’t Know ABout Me

I’m pretty sure I’ve already done one of these but I got tagged by Tessa over at the Boob Juice Factory. And I secretly love making lists – occupational hazard of being male.

Question is, can I actually manage six more interesting ones?

(Pauses. Scratches head.)

Okay. Here goes.

  1. The less than marvellous band I was in once supported Mega City 4 in a club in Hamburg. Disaster struck after the first two songs. I broke a string. With no spare guitar, I had to re-string rapidly, forgot to stretch the new ‘E’ properly and spent the rest of the dismal set wrestling with an untuneable guitar and sweating profusely. I was also aware of MC4’s arsenal of guitars immediately behind us. Bastards. So we stole all their beer.
  2. I used to be able to break 100,000 on Missile Command.
  3. I can ride a horse and jump. The horse, that is. I mean, I can sit on a horse and persuade the horse to jump. Or I could 28 years ago (note to self: must create ‘6 things I did once or used to do and have to do again’ meme).
  4. I shook Charles Haughey’s hand when I was 17. He was short.
  5. I can’t drive. This really annoys supermum (though, perversely she says that if I ever learn, she wouldn’t want to risk being driven by me).
  6. My name has legally changed three times.

I’m supposed to tag someone. Heh.

SUPERMUM!

  1. Perhaps #3 explains #5.

  2. Eeh, I can’t drive and I’ve legally changed my name once. Is there a pattern here? I’m glad there is another non-driver out there. Nobody really “gets” the fact I don’t intend to learn.

What is Missile Command?! (I sense this is a boy thing).

  3. Mitch, you could be on to something – I only ever got on a horse because my sister was having lessons and I didn’t want to miss out.
Helen, Missile Command is SUCH a boy thing. And it so shows my age…

  4. So can we get more details on this name change thing? Are you just really fickle? Was one of your names “Peanuts McDusty Pants”?

  5. hi. you should visit http://www.listography.com to share and archive your lists…seems like you might like it!?

  6. I was always more of a Galaga fan myself. And I’m very curious about the name change thing: how do you choose a new name from all the choices in the world?

  7. Name changes – where would life be without a little mystery?
